Just went to see The Hunger Games. Still don't have much of a desire to read the books, but I thoroughly enjoyed the films as they were. Tended to find myself watching the backgrounds, all those wonderfully dressed people in the city, etc. I loved Stanley Tucci obviously, and I wonder whether I'd have been so enchanted at the bit on the chariot if I'd have known it was coming? IDK IDK. Little bit disjointed, little bit pacey, but there were hot men fighting to the death and if that's not enough to whet your whistle, well then I just don't know how we're still friends.

As if you care, it gets my seal of approval. And it's also made me much more amenable to the idea of Hunger Games RP, for what it's worth. Probably a liability since I only know what I've been able to glean, but hey - I've been winging it since I started roleplaying eleven years ago, why stop now?

Got the wiki open as we speak.

Oh, here's a tip for you: don't drink two bottles of whiskey in one evening and then eat half a slice of pizza to 'absorb it'. Because you end up propositioning half your AIM list and then making poor sexual choices.

Sorry about this, my fellow British-ers, but this one's aimed at my American friends - I mean, feel free to add your opinions if you like but for the most part I'm interested in American thoughts.

Specifically, I want to know what your opinions are on President Obama and his administration. In light of the SOPA and NDAA stuff, and especially considering all the Republican hullabaloo, I was wondering whether or not you think Obama has been an effective president. Your thoughts on the discrepancies (or, indeed, successes) between his election platform and what he's actually done, I want them.

This isn't intended as a jab at Obama, or meant to be a rabid defence of him - there's a couple of you (Sarah, and em tells me Sam will have some interesting points to raise!) I especially hope will weigh in, but any and all of you should feel free to jump in!
